Tour Payments / Bhutan Visa Procedure: Tourism in Bhutan is controlled by the Govt. So payments has to wire transferred to us in advance. Upon your trip confirmation, Bhutan Mountain Holiday will send you the bank details. Without the payments received, Tourism Council of Bhutan (TCB) do not approve Bhutan visa. Once the payment is received at our bank, it is withheld in TCB bank account in our favor and later reimbursed to us at the end of your Bhutan trip.
For Bhutan Visa Processing: we will require your passport details viz. full name(s), gender, permanent address, place and date of birth, nationality, passport number and type of passport, place and date of issue, expiry and profession.
Visa Fee: Bhutan visa is USD20 per person which is not included on the package.
Credit Card: Use of credit card is very limited in Bhutan. So you are advised to carry US Dollar, Pounds Sterling or Euro in cash(fresh notes) for needs of personal effect.
Clothing: Please let us know for any given season or time of Bhutan visit that you maybe unsure of what clothing to bring along for cultural motor tours, hikes or trekking. You will accordingly be informed.
Tips: Tipping is a common tradition in Bhutan passed down through generations. Locally known as ‘soelray’ it is a gesture of appreciation and courtesy. Hence for instance like during visit to a village farm house, your guide, driver, trekking crew(if trekking) tips is expected. If you might want to know the range of tipping kindly let us know.
Dress code while visiting Monasteries, Dzongs (ancient castle fortresses) or Govt. office premises: You are requested to be dressed in long sleeve trousers, shirts (long sleeve collared recommended). Jackets are alright to wear as well and long skirt is alright for females. Cap, hat or umbrella has to be taken off. You are requested not to be in slippers, mini-skirts or shorts while visiting aforementioned premises. For photography in the premises please ask our tour guide with you if it would be appropriate.
